"Black Neighborhood" appears on RVLTN (Chapter 1): The Divided States of AmeriKKKa, Bobby Sessions' Def Jam debut EP (released July 20, 2018). The track pairs Sessions with Atlanta rapper and activist Killer Mike, whose guest verse is the song's centerpiece. Sessions builds the song around the engineered landscape of a segregated Black neighborhood: the recurring pattern of gun stores, liquor stores, and shoe stores that stand in for disinvestment and containment. Killer Mike's verse invokes Assata Shakur and argues that Black liberation politics must center Black women ("my auntie is Assata... the black woman is God"), a challenge to a movement that overlooks their role. The song was released with a video HipHopDX described as "gritty" street visuals.
